BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) 4.0 integrates with a Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, and Novel GroupWise, email servers, to give you a manageable wireless email system. It's built on a scalable "push" architecture, providing a tightly integrated, high performance platform for wireless e-mail access. This "push model" means it immediately routes a copy of all incoming messages from the server to your handheld, allowing for 'Always On, Always Connected®' operation
BES 4.0 offers increased
manageability, simplified administration, enhanced security, improved
ease-of-use and increased user mobility. BES 4.0 lets users quickly connect a
handheld to the Enterprise Server with cradle-less wireless provisioning -
giving IT departments an easier way to deploy devices across their company. A
handheld configuration tool now provides a central location for handheld
software deployment, as well as user data provisioning.
The software offers more statistics regarding handhelds that are deployed, which
improves administration and asset tracking for companies. The IT department can
now remotely control what applications can be installed on end users' handhelds.
